ABOUT THE RESOURCE
Ubiquity Press is a researcher-led open access publisher of peer-reviewed academic journals and books. In this 30-minute EIFL webinar, ubiquitypress.com Ubiquity Press researcher and publisher Brian Hole gives an overview of Ubiquity Press’s first full next generation repository and discusses how it compares to other repositories.
Based on the Hyku platform from the Hydra-in-a-Box project, the repository platform is being developed in partnership with the British Library. It will offer cloud-hosting for institutional repositories, will need no institutional IT management and is low cost. It is completely open source and there is no technological or contractual lock-in.
The platform is currently in its pilot and final development phase in Canada (Western University), the US (U. Penn; Penn State; Gonzaga University) and the UK (British Library, British Museum, Tate, National Museums Scotland and Museum of London Archaeology), and will be released in June 2019. More partners welcome!
See what the new platform currently offers, and preview features that are still being developed, in Brian’s slides.
