The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many African governments to issue directives for the closure of public spaces, including libraries. As a result, learning and information seeking are transitioning online like never before. But what happens to our physical libraries? How can the resources on library shelves still be used to provide information to user communities? These and other questions will be addressed by speaker Teresa Hackett, EIFL Copyright and Libraries Programme Manager.
The webinar will raise awareness of copyright and licensing issues in the shift to remote learning, and provide tools for librarians in Africa to help assess the resilience of their national copyright laws, and applicable e-resource licences, in meeting these new online needs.
