EIFL, together with our partner, the Lesotho Library Consortium (LELICO), is organizing a seminar in Lesotho on the Marrakesh Treaty for persons with print disabilities.
Policy-makers and officials, librarians, and representatives of people living with disability from Lesotho, Botswana, Kenya, Senegal and South Africa will attend the seminar, which is organized in cooperation with the Lesotho Registrar General's Office.
The seminar aims to encourage ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty, and to share best practices in domesticating the Treaty into national copyright law.
Resource people include Awa Cissé, EIFL Copyright Coordinator in Senegal, Jace Nair, African Union of the Blind (AFUB), Jonathan Band, co-author of ‘Our right to Knowledge’, published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Teresa Hackett, EIFL Copyright and Libraries Programme Manager.
The seminar is kindly supported by the (unesco.org/new/en/member-states/mscontent/participation-programme) UNESCO Participation Programme.
