EIFL will take part in the 2017 International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions World Library and Information Congress (IFLA/WLIC 2017).
19 - 25 August: 19 public librarians from 10 countries in Africa who are taking part in IYALI (Initiative ‘Young African Library Innovators’) will participate in various sessions of the congress and connect with IFLA leaders and programme associates. IYALI is a two-year international learning experience for emerging public library innovators from Africa. It is an initiative of the EIFL Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) in partnership with the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA) and IFLA.
21 August: EIFL Copyright and Libraries Programme Manager, Teresa Hackett, will give a presentation titled ‘The road to ratification: experiences in developing and transition countries'. The presentation features in the session on Libraries Serving Persons with Print Disabilities, which this year focuses on the Marrakesh Treaty for blind, visually impaired and otherwise print-disabled people.
