Four librarians from libraries taking part in the EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project have received fellowships to spend three months at the Central European University (CEU) library in Budapest, Hungary.
EIFL eLibrary Myanmar Project Capacity Building Manager Ruth Bird will spend one week with the fellows in Budapest. Bird will lead and contribute to training in organizational structures for libraries (including organizational charts and formulating accurate job descriptions); writing for the web; planning, creating and writing library guides for subjects taught at universities in Myanmar, and strategies for integrating e-resources into university curricula.
The CEU course will include a train- the-trainer module and teaching strategies and skills to build capacity of the four librarians to boost use of e-resources by faculty and students in Myanmar.
The CEU fellows from Myanmar are Daw Hlaing Hlaing Gyi, who is University Librarian at the University of Yangon; Daw Hla Hla Win, University Librarian at the University of Mandalay, Daw Khin La Pyayt Win, librarian at Central Universities Library, and Daw Myat Sann Nyein, local coordinator of the EIFL eLibrary Myanmar project.
